Cosima Plaster Chandelier

From the heavy solid brass hardware to the handcrafted plaster finish this chandelier looks like something that costs thousands at an architectural antique showroom. Could not be happier.

The ceiling rose is nicely machined and pulled tight against our ceiling without leaving gaps or looking crooked. Matches the hanging chain tone seamlessly.

For a fixture this heavy and substantial the printed installation leaflet was fairly brief on ceiling bracket mounting. Luckily our licensed electrician knew exactly how to anchor it safely.

A lot of chandeliers only look good when turned on at night but the organic curves of the plaster catch daylight like a sculpture hanging from the ceiling. Really impressive craftsmanship.

Make sure you check your room height before buying. Between the fixture height and the chain drop you really need at least nine or ten foot ceilings so nobody feels crowded underneath.

We hung this in our double-height entryway. It fills the vertical space without looking cluttered. When you open the front door at night the warm illumination looks so welcoming.

The solid brass chain links are thick and sturdy so shortening the drop required heavy pliers and elbow grease. Once we got the height dialed in it hangs perfectly.

I was anxious about shipping a thirty-five pound plaster chandelier across the country. It arrived encased in thick foam inside a wooden crate with zero cracks or chips anywhere.

During installation one of the guys touched it with dusty hands and left a smudge. A soft white eraser cleaned it off right away. Definitely wear clean cotton gloves when hanging.

The five light sources are nestled deep within the plaster cups so when you look up you do not get blinded by bare bulbs. Just a warm enveloping wash of light across the ceiling and room.

We went with the black option for our contemporary living room. It has such an architectural dramatic silhouette against our pale walls. Everyone who walks into the room stops to admire it.

I love that they used genuine heavy brass for the links instead of painted hollow steel. The warm brass chain contrasting against the matte white plaster looks so luxurious in person.

The chandelier is breathtaking but have a vacuum ready when opening the wooden crate as some plaster crumbs came loose from the packaging foam. Wiped down easily with a dry cloth.

Make sure your ceiling box is rated for serious weight because this fixture has real heft to it. Our electrician anchored it into the ceiling joist without issue. Once secured it looks majestic.

Hung the Cosima in our high ceiling dining room and it is a complete showstopper. The matte chalk white texture feels like a hand carved plaster sculpture. The five warm lights cast such a peaceful glow across the table.
