Kyoto Pleated Bamboo Cone Pendant Light

We have had this pendant up for two weeks now and dinner feels so peaceful underneath it. The warm light bouncing off the bamboo creates the coziest evening vibe imaginable.

We used two of the large 24.4 inch pendants over our nine foot island. They make the kitchen feel so calm and grounded. Everyone who walks into our house mentions them first.

Because the cone flares outward and downwards the light source is nicely recessed. You get focused illumination on your food and tabletop with zero glare in your eyes.

The copper finial at the top of the shade and the ceiling canopy have a lovely warm glow that pairs so naturally with the light toned bamboo. It looks like an authentic Scandinavian vintage piece.

The hanging cord is nearly ten feet long which is great for vaulted ceilings. For our eight foot dining room ceiling our electrician trimmed the excess wire before mounting. Looks incredibly clean once up.

I was wondering if the pleats would collect dust but a quick sweep with an ostrich feather duster once every couple of weeks keeps it completely clean. Very low maintenance.

You can see the subtle natural grain and variation along the bamboo slats. It smells lightly of clean dried wood when first opened. Pure organic charm.

Unlike heavy glass or brass chandeliers this light is very light. My husband had no problem holding it up while connecting the junction box wires. Took less than half an hour.

Occasionally if someone flips the switch quickly it advances to the next color setting so you have to flip it again to return to warm white. Aside from that minor quirk the lamp is a stunner.

The pleating looks like architectural origami. In daylight when the light is off it still functions as a sculptural art piece. The shadows along the folds are gorgeous.

You can cycle between light temperatures using your standard wall switch. We keep it on warm white almost all the time because it brings out the natural golden tones of the bamboo.

We bought the 17.7 inch small version for our built in kitchen breakfast corner. It provides plenty of direct tabletop light without taking over the whole nook. Truly love the craftsmanship.

The bamboo folds are thin and finely woven so take your time taking it out of the box. Do not press hard on the outer edges during install. Once hung from the cord it feels very stable.

The delivery driver dropped the box and one corner was badly dented. Fortunately the internal rigid frame and bubble wrapping kept the bamboo cone completely intact with zero bent pleats.
